Porini Lion Camp is located in the exclusive 20,000 acre Olare Orok Conservancy. This expansive conservancy, which borders the Masai Mara Game Reserve is home to an abundance of animals including the Big Cats for which the Mara is famous. Lion Porini Camp location

The Camp is situated along the banks of the Ntiakatiak River, a seasonal river with some permanent hippo pools near the camp. With 10 luxury guest tents the camp is very exclusive and giving you a real in the bush experience. The tents are very spacious and have private verandahs along the length of the tent, providing a secluded and private ‘space’ for you to relax and enjoy the beauty of this African wilderness. Each tent has en-suite bathrooms with flush toilets and hot showers. Food is excellent with fresh baked bread and high quality meals prepared by the camp Chef.

 

At camp guests enjoy morning, evening and night game drives in custom built 4×4′s. Sundowners at scenic viewing points, from where you can enjoy a drink watching the sun set over the Mara. And escorted bush walks with Maasai warriors and safari guide, where you can get an insight into the Maasai people, their way of life and also learn more about the animals, birds and plants of the Mara.

 

itinerary – Duration: 2 nights / 3 days

Day 1

Depart Nairobi Wilson Airport at 10 am for your 50 minute flight into the heart of the Masai Mara National Reserve. You’ll be met at the airstrip by your safari guide from Porini Lion Camp in open-sided 4×4 safari vehicle and will immediately be “on safari” in the Mara. Enjoy the day in the Mara with a picnic lunch on the look out for the Big Cats. Then drive to Porini Lion Camp and settle into your tent. Afternoon game drive, followed by a sundowner at a scenic point. Return to camp for a shower, dinner and overnight.

Day 2

*Optional Balloon Safari and Champange Breakfast.
Awake at dawn to the natural sounds of Masai Mara’s birdlife. After early morning tea you will have a game drive in the conservancy on the lookout for the Big Five! Return to camp for breakfast followed by a morning nature walk across the plains escorted by Maasai warriors returning for lunch. In the afternoon you will go on a game drive in Olare Orok Conservancy, stopping for a sundowner at a scenic viewpoint, followed by a night game drive to look for nocturnal animals. Return to camp for dinner and overnight.

 

Day 3

Early morning walk in the Conservancy with Maasai warriors, followed by breakfast. Then depart on the flight back to Nairobi, arriving around 12.15 pm.
